Philips HR1868/81 Avance Collection Quick Clean Juicer, A Great juicer that is easy to clean!

Terrific juice and so basic to use, my fourteen 12 months previous can use it. We have an allotment so get a large amount of fruit, the two from what we increase and and also from fellow allotment holders. Terrific way to juice up fruit and straightforward. Apples are a doddle as you can simply just quarter them and feed them via the incredibly large feeding tube- no have to have to peel. I like making use of an apple coring issue we bought from ikea as it cores and cuts into sections, building this an even easier undertaking. You do have to get rid of stones from stoned fruit, but the day we identified some discounted plums at the grocery store, that proved to be no issues. We just took a sharp paring knife and lower all over the centre stone. Cleansing this was also straightforward. It took three-four drinking water flush throughs to get it fairly distinct, but disassembly took literal times and the soiled parts all dishwasher secure, so one quick eco wash later on and a fantastic wipe dry, it was all ready to set back again jointly and use all over again.

Fantastic juicer – but also significantly work for the concluded solution. After obtaining just about £20 of fruit to give this device a examination generate i speedily concluded the time and effort concerned was just as well a great deal to justify possessing it. The device itself is effortlessly assembled but is very massive, bulky, significant and commands a significant area of worktop house. This distinct design has 1 of the significantly less impressive motors in the philips array of domestic juicers so will be ideal suited to one men and women and couples as opposed to the larger sized spouse and children. After assembling and wanting on the net for recipes,i tried to make a juice from grapes and mangos, followed by oranges and apples. The benefits were, style smart, fairly good, but i was really let down at the very low volume of juice generated, followed by the owning to immediately comprehensively clean the unit as for each. The manufacturers recommendations. So, total,a fantastic machine that makes fantastic tasting juice, but will work out to be a incredibly expensive. And time consuming way of getting there. If you’ve got acquired the time and motivation (as properly as cash) to apply in buy to obtain your fresh new juice, then this is the machine for you.

Philips HR1868/81 Avance Collection Quick Clean Juicer, 2.5 Litre, 700 Watt – White

  • Quick Rinse Function – simply pour water through and activate to quickly clean the juicer
  • QuickClean technology for effortless cleaning in just 1 minute
  • XXL feeding tube so preparation is reduced prior to juicing
  • Make 2.5 L of juice in one go, quickly and easily
  • Strong 700 W motor for efficient juicing, every day

The packaging was straightforward and available with higher and reduce encasements produced from. I applied apples, kiwis, bananas and oranges. It all worked definitely properly and was speedy. I only experienced to peel the bananas and oranges, it was a reduction to not peel the applesthe packaging was straightforward and available with upper and decrease encasements made from recyclable cardboard. Guidance were reasonably simple to stick to although the `don’ts` will need to be highlighted e. Do not run the device for extra than fifty nine seconds at a time. An automated change would be valuable to avoid the motor overheating. The cleansing of the most important funnel and the bowl was straightforward, incredibly very similar to a food processor. The interior disc has grooves and had been a tiny difficult.

These philips juicers are pretty significant, so need affordable worktop area, or cupboard house. I have to move this one particular from underneath my kitchen area wall cupboards when i use it. It is not as noisy as i was anticipating, even at the swiftest speed – quieter than the audio of a foods processor, for example, and it juices unbelievably promptly so only desires to be applied in small bursts. The recommendations are brief, but fairly clear-cut, and include all you have to have to know. I assembled the juicer quite conveniently making use of the diagram guidelines, which are helpfully replicated within the box lid. The only detail i did mistaken was forgetting to place the protect on the jug when filling it from the spout throughout the juicing phase. I received splashed by the gushing juice as a resulti seriously like the white foundation of this juicer, which matches our kitchen area and appliances, and would seem quick to wipe clean. At the bottom of the base are beneficial suckers that stick it to the worktop and minimize vibration. Making use of the juicer is straightforward, and it procedures the fruit very rapidly.

Huge juicer, presents great benefits, but may possibly be extra hassle than it really is worthy of. This is a major beast of a device. It’s larger sized than i envisioned from the shots, and it can take up a whole lot of kitchen-leading space. It is a juicer on an virtually commercial scale- in get to justify getting a person of these, you would need to possibly *truly* enjoy your juice, or be jogging a café or restaurant the place you want some great fruit juices on the menu. Importantly, if you set in some first rate high quality fruit- it does not have to be major-good quality fruit- then the outcomes are wonderful. You get a wealthy, refreshing, sweet juice which is obtained a several minor bits in but is commonly extremely clean. The big difference in between freshly-created juice and supermarket carton juice is completely distinct to flavor. As properly as just bunging in any fruit you want to attempt (strawberries were my individual favourite, tomatoes not so much), there is a recipe guide with some uncommon strategies involving issues like beetroot, celery, or lime. And whilst you should not knock it ‘til you’ve tried using it, i’ll just say that selected mixtures are not to everybody’s style. I can see why a ton of individuals would go to a whole lot of difficulties to get this fresh new juice instead than just buying a carton, as the style is so a great deal much better.

Philips HR1868/81 Avance Collection Quick Clean Juicer, 2.5 Litre, 700 Watt – White : Juicing is a current health trend that has a mixed rep due to its use as a detox diet. Many people use juices as a replacement for some or all of their meals to lose weight. I personally don’t intend to do this. I think juicing can be a nice way of getting vitamins and minerals and is healthy as long as you don’t forget that we still need other things such as protein. As a big fan of making smoothies and milkshakes in the blender i was keen to try juicing for the first time. The box it arrived in was massive, much bigger than i was expecting. On unpacking everything, it was still quite big. This is something to consider if you have a small kitchen. However, it looks pretty nice on the counter topwe washed everything and spent a while trying to decide on our first juice.

I already have the smaller version of this juicer, so i have adapted my review from that product philips hr1832/01 viva collection compact juicer, 1. This one functions in the same way, but is quite a bit larger and hence has a higher capacity. This juicer looks great, is easy to assemble (despite comprising half a dozen parts), and has a marvellous straightforward manual that all fits on one page. This gives clear guidance on what can and cannot be juiced. I tested the machine with oranges and apples. The machine is fairly noisy and can grind through an apple, say, in about 30 seconds. The juice that comes out is warmer than i’d like, and also aerated, which diminishes the flavour.

Great product (though only in use for 3 days so far). Had it three days, very pleased. Looks like the motor has been uprated to 900 watts.

An excellent product, seems to work very well and i was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to clean. Of course some slight scrubbing on the metal blade is necessary but i can clean the whole thing in less than two minutes by hand and from time to time put it in the dishwasher for a thorough deep clean. I bought it on offer for £75 but even at £150 i think it is well worth it.

Compact, effective juicer – ideal for fruit juicing. Excellent juicer which is fairly compact and it leaves pulp dry. It’s not a masticating juicer, so it does oxidize the juice. However, i’ve found that for fruit juicing, a centrifugal juicer is much better than a masticating juicer. Especially when juicing apples, as you don’t need to remove the seeds or cut up the fruit to insert into the chute. Instead you just drop the whole fruit into the chute. Interestingly, when my juicer arrived, the box stated 900w power on the box and not 700w as advertised. Not sure why, because it’s definitely the 1868/81 model that i ordered. Being able to funnel water through the juicer to help clean it is definitely a bonus. It doesn’t quite remove everything and you still need to give the parts a clean.

This is the third juicer we have used. The first was over 7 years ago and a total disaster. It took (practically) hours to clean and was only used once. Our next was the philips hr1863/01 viva collection juicer, 2 litre which was a great success and was regularly used and loved. So we were really pleased to be given the chance to review this updated model. For us, there are two main advantages to this model – the first being the wider feeding tube allowing you to quickly throw anything in – even whole apples. The second is the flushing/cleaning system. It still takes more than the stated one minute to clean, but the water flushing helps. On the con-side, half a litre doesn’t sound like much – but this thing is seriously monstrous.

Brilliant juicer – quick, powerful and easy to clean. Like many people, i’d owned a juicer for a while before relegating it tio the back of a cupboard. The results were nice, but the thing was just too fiddly to use and to clean. So i jumped at the chance of trying a newer model which advertised its user-friendliness and easy maintenance. Unlike my old kenwood centrifugal juicer, it produces excellent juice with speed and ease. It has a powerful motor and on top speed, makes short work of woody fruit like pineapple or hard vegetables like carrots in seconds. It’s not necessary to peel fruit or cut it up into small pieces first – just take off any parts you wouldn’t want to eat, like orange peel or apple stalks, and feed it into the machine. The juice will flow into the accompanying jug – or if you prefer, into a cup of your own – immediately. There’s an optional strainer lid for the jug if you don’t like the cloudy foam on your juice and prefer it clear. I tried several suggestions from the accompanying recipe leaflet – apple, cucumber and carrot juice was refreshing and pineapple, ginger and apple was gloriously zingy. Nearly all the juices taste better once chilled, so either keep your ingredients in the fridge beforehand, add ice cubes or chill the juice before drinking – add a dash of lemon to apple juice to stop it going brown in the fridge. Then, wonder of wonders – every part of the machine bar the motor unit itself can go straight into the dishwasher. No hand washing, no scraping, no picking out bits – it’s clean in a flash and easy to reassemble, too. The juiced pulp collects in a container inside and can be tipped straight into the bin or even better, onto your compost heap.

Effective good quality juicer. This new juicer from philips feels a well designed and good quality product. Taking all the various parts out of the box and packaging it felt fairly straightforward to slot them all together in the right place ready to get started. I used the illustrations on the box, which we tore off before recycling it, to check that this all looked correct. I wouldn’t describe it as enormous, but it is fair to say that it is a sizeable appliance compared to most that you might have in the kitchen, so it’s definitely worth checking the dimensions and assessing if it’ll fit on your worktop, or fit well in your cupboards, the need to be able to accommodate it should be weighed up against the effective way that it functions and the lovely juice it makes though, as well as the price. In our kitchen, with the top part attached where the fruit goes in, it does not quite fit at the back of the worktop under the cupboards on the wall, so we have to store it either left out there with the top off and stored separately, or put it away in a lower cupboard. I always think with things like this though that they are used more if they are ready out on the worktop, but that might just be me. I know we have had things in the past which, once put in the cupboard, are easily forgotton, sadly. The juicer works well and gives good results. It’s a brilliant way to get more fruit inside you, i find it much easier to ‘drink’ more fruit than to eat it, and the way you can add several pieces of some fruit and veg ‘whole’ with this juicer – such as apples and carrots – makes the process easier and reduces the time spent preparing the fruit.

It’s a pretty good juicer, but. There are really two things that matter with a juicer – one is the juicer, and the other is the concept of juicing itself. If you’e already a fan of juicing, feel free to mentally tack on a fourth star. The juicer works very well in terms of how it juices – it’s fast, very intuitive, and produces juice in a matter of seconds. For many fruits, it’s as simple as throwing them into the chute and switching it on – no need to peel. For others, such as oranges, some initial prepwork is required. Most of my experimentation with this was using apples, although i did try it with other things too. The only real flaw it has is that the ‘quick clean’ label is something of a con-trick. All it does is turn one awkward cleaning job into five easier jobs. Every part of the juicer has to be cleaned after a juicing, and while none of it takes especially long to do, i wouldn’t remotely refer to it as ‘quick clean’.

Excellent juicer that is a genuine step up from the lower models in the range. This is a top class workhorse of a juicer that does a fantastic job. You get a sense of the attention to detail that philips have put in as soon as you open the box. On one of the inner flaps there are picture instructions for putting the parts of the juicer together, and also for doing a very quick clean by pouring 400 – 700 ml of water in the top. Inside the box the parts of the juicer are well and securely packed along with three booklets. The fold-out instruction booklet explains with the help of detailed pictures how the juicer goes together, and how you should use it. There’s nothing too complex, and once you have put it together and stripped it down for cleaning a couple of times it all makes perfect sense and becomes second nature. The colour recipe booklet has a good range of easy ideas which can serve as the basis for your own further experimentation. The final booklet is the guarantee. You do need to keep an eye out for one or two small parts inside the box when you are unpacking the parts of the juicer.

Fantastic juicer – but too much effort for the finished product. After purchasing almost £20 of fruit to give this machine a test drive i quickly concluded the time and effort involved was just too much to justify having it. The machine itself is easily assembled but is quite large, bulky, heavy and commands a large area of worktop space. This particular model has one of the less powerful motors in the philips range of domestic juicers so will be best suited to single people and couples as opposed to the larger family. After assembling and looking online for recipes,i attempted to make a juice from grapes and mangos, followed by oranges and apples. The results were, taste wise, quite good, but i was very disappointed at the low volume of juice produced, followed by the having to immediately thoroughly clean the unit as per. The manufacturers instructions. So, overall,a good machine that produces good tasting juice, but works out to be a very expensive. And time consuming way of getting there. If you’ve got the time and commitment (as well as money) to apply in order to obtain your fresh juice, then this is the machine for you.

the philips hr1868 (catchy name. ) is a big beast of a juicer that announces its presence with sheer bulk and loud roar. It all seems a little excessive considering the amount of juice most fruit offers. Tall and wide, and wider still when combined with the jug, your first consideration should be cupboard / counter space before purchasing. Mine is now stashed on a counter-top as we couldn’t find a cupboard with enough space. It may not be the ugliest piece of equipment in our moderate sized kitchen, but it is certainly noticeable. Then there’s the noise and general process of juicing. As this is my first juicer i can’t compare it to others, but blimey it is loud. The poor pink lady apples we first tried had no chance (see video). The end result is usually unpleasant to look at thanks to foam that the anti-foam spout only manages to reduce a little, but tastes fresh and excellent. One real disappointment is the juicer’s inability to juice certain fruits.

It’s easy to put together, it’s easy to take part, easy to use and easy to clean. What more could you want in a juicer?. The two negatives are that it’s quite big, taking up more space in my already packed kitchen. Also, it takes a lot of fruit to create one glass of juice, but i assume that’s the same as other juicers. If you are looking for a juicer i would recommend this one.

Good for fruit, not so for veg. . It’s big, bigger than i thought it was going to be, but that’s because this juicer has a strong motor. Somehow philips thinks we all have huge kitchens, cleaned by staff and that we keep all our exciting kitchen gadgets on show. Not so, this juicer will take up a lot of cupboard space. It’s good, but i’ve been using a matstone 6 in 1 ivory juicer the last couple of years, which is a masticating juicer that crushes and grind the fibres of your ingredients at a slower rate. The pulp from the matstone is far drier, more juice is extracted from the fruits & veg. I’ve used the pulps in the past in adding taste, colour or fibre in cooking, so little goes to waste. The philips loses points here, however and produces a far wetter pulp. Operation of the philips is pretty simple with a large diameter feed tube, so there’s less preparation time with chopping the fruits to fit. Pretty much all the pulp is collected in a donut shaped container.

It is a lot bigger than my older kenwood and is much better for juicing whole fruits such as apple’s and oranges, although some of the larger ones need cutting up a bit. It has more than one sitting depending whether the fruit is hard or soft. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner when in operation but juices really well. As far as being easier to wash up it is about the same as my kenwood was but as it makes delicious juices it is forgiven. My favourite juice so far is carrot and apple. I am not into weird and wonderful combinations just the citrus and apple being the best. Well worth its price tag although phillips are dreadful at providing clear instructions just pictorial ones.

It looks good, works well but is not quite so easy to clean as the manufacturer claims. It is also a large piece of equipment. Whilst there is no denying that the juice from freshly fruit is far more flavourful than most ready to use juice, the time and effort you spend making your own (and clearing up afterwards) is enough to wilt the enthusiasm of al but the bravest of hearts. For this reason, i’d only advise any one to consider this if they had a considerably higher than normal requirement for home squeezed fruit juice. You need a large expanse of work-surface to easily accommodate this appliance. There’s no denying it’s very good at what does but you need to have the space to keep it out and ready for use at all times, once these things go into cupboards, they tend not to come out very frequently.

Great juicer – though a bit fiddly to clean. This is a sizeable juicer, as you would expect from something where you can make 2. So, if you have the counter/cupboard space this is a great way of producing bulk amounts of juice. It is easy to assemble and use and it produces a lovely texture of juice – thicker than most pre-packaged juice. Issues are that you lose quite a bit of the original material in the juicer (unlike the nutri-bullet where you are making the juice in the cup you will drink from) and that it certainly takes us more than 1 minute to clean – quite a lot of pieces and you want to make sure it is properly clean. Solidly made, this seems like good value to me. If you want to get a good juicer this is a good option.
